The project in 30 seconds
- 01
The challenge
Different areas across two large units became ready at different times, so the move had to follow the build programme without losing track of destinations.
- 02
The approach
Each load was grouped by phase and final room. The team dismantled, moved and rebuilt furniture as individual areas came online.
- 03
The outcome
McLaren’s main relocation completed in October 2025, with offices, shared facilities, IT areas and warehouse spaces prepared for use.

A relocation built around the operation
- 01
Two sites. Two large units. No single moving day.
The first phase left Guildford in early 2024. By October 2025, Oneplace2save had moved and rebuilt far more than desks and chairs across McLaren’s Bicester operation.
Built-in furniture, meeting rooms, designer workstations, kitchens, IT rooms and warehouse equipment all had to arrive in the right order as each space became ready.
Oneplace2save dismantled, transported and rebuilt built-in and freestanding furniture as areas at McLaren’s Bicester operation became ready. The same programme reached investor meeting rooms, designer workstations, kitchens, canteens, IT rooms and warehouse space.
That meant knowing not only what had to move, but where it belonged, when the room would be ready and what the next team needed to find when they arrived.

The move kept growing
A move running across months cannot be packed as one job. Furniture for the next handover has to stay accessible; completed rooms have to remain usable; items for one unit cannot disappear into the other.
The team grouped each load by destination and phase, rebuilt furniture as rooms came online and kept the physical move aligned with the wider programme.

What the team handled
From early 2024, Oneplace2save coordinated the physical move phase by phase. Built-in and freestanding furniture was dismantled, grouped for its destination, transported and rebuilt on arrival. The same team worked across designer workstations, investor meeting rooms, kitchen and canteen areas, IT spaces, warehouse shelving and racking.

Beyond the offices

Specialist materials, carefully organised
One of the most memorable parts of the job sat away from the desks. Oneplace2save installed shelving and racking for the specialist leathers and fabrics used in McLaren’s cars.
Handling valuable materials is familiar work. Seeing them before they became part of a finished vehicle made this project feel different: a close-up view of the craft behind the cars, inside the space that supports it.
Then somebody found the F1 wheels

A very unofficial pit crew
After a successful phase, the team borrowed a few minutes for a joke: genuine McLaren F1 wheels, an office chair and a very unofficial pit crew.
The relocation had taken nearly two years. The pit stop took considerably less. It was the right ending to a demanding stretch of work—job done properly, client happy, team still laughing.

What changed in practice
The principal relocation was completed in October 2025, with offices, shared facilities and operational spaces prepared for use at Bicester. McLaren continued to trust Oneplace2save beyond the main move as the new operation developed, extending a demanding project into an ongoing working relationship.
